Minimalism in photography can be a very powerful approach, and experimenting with it can really improve how you see. In minimalism, we aim to capture the essence or “soul” of our subject, stripping away everything that doesn’t convery that. We make images that are not so much “of” the subject, as “about” the subject. Even if minimalism turns out not to be “your thing”, the visual skills you learn through it can be applied to help you create better images in any genre.
